A 70-YEAR-OLD man was injured after his car collided with a bus and a tree.

The pensioner who lives on Meltham Road in Netherton pulled out of a designated parking space and into the path of an oncoming bus.

The collision caused him to swerve his Nissan Micra car and hit a nearby tree.

He was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary for treatment to head injuries.

Several bus passengers reported minor injuries and were treated by paramedics.

The incident happened at 12.15pm on Saturday, September 6.

PC Dave Briggs from Kirklees Road Traffic Police said: “It seems this man pulled out of his parking space and into this bus and then a tree across the road.

“He had head injuries and was taken to hospital.”

The man’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
