Huddersfield Bus Station is to close this evening for road repairs.

Engineers are to carry out resurfacing work on roads leading into the Upperhead Row site.

A spokesman for the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, responsible for transport, said: “The patching work is at the entrance to the station so buses are just using the normal town centre stops that they would use after leaving the bus station”.

It will mean disruption for hundreds of passengers.

They have been advised to wait for their buses at other stops in the town centre.

The shutdown is from 6pm and the station will be open from tomorrow morning.
