These amazing cakes are so good they make people cry - so you'd never believe the woman who bakes them is a former legal secretary who failed art at school.

Caroline Shaw says she was never creative - but her hand-decorated cakes made before and after work became so popular she decided to give up her legal career and bake full time.

Two years on, she spends 14 hours a day, seven days a week in her kitchen and is booked up for the rest of the year, with more than 100 orders already in for 2015. She also bakes for charity and made £205 for Kirkwood Hospice earlier this year.

She says customers sometimes end up in tears when they come to pick up their orders. And they save the hand made decorations because they can't bear to eat them.

Caroline, 36, of Kirkheaton, said: "I just roll out of bed into the kitchen and this is what I do. It doesn't feel like a job. Even two years on it's strange thinking I don't have to go to work. I get such a buzz from it - I love it!"

She said although she had always loved baking she didn't decorate cakes until starting to make them for family and friends.

She said: "My mum has pictures of me baking cakes but I never did arty stuff. That just happened later. Now I look back and I can see how much I've improved. I am proud of myself and my husband Chris is proud of me too.

"I'm a perfectionist and it has to look right or I won't be happy.

"The most popular cakes are the Lego superheroes and the Disney Frozen cake - I've done about eight of each this year. I have built myself up to be a novelty queen but I want to do more girly things. I like it when a customer gives me an idea such as an animal cake and I can create something myself.

"It's the best thing I've ever done."
