A COUNCIL is getting a £631,000 funding boost.

But Calderdale Council will have to use the money to assist in meeting the pressures in the Adults Health and Social Care budget for the current financial year. The money is being granted by NHS Calderdale after the Department for Health allocated a one-off payment of £162m nationally for Primary Care Trusts in England to invest immediately in vital social care services which also benefit the NHS. Figures show that the Calderdale Council adult, health and social care department were forecast to overspend by around £500,000 in 2010/11. It will be approved by Calderdale’s Cabinet next Monday.
