A bid for lap-dancers to dance nude at a Calderdale venue has been rejected.

Bosses at La Salsa had sought the backing of Calderdale Council’s Licensing Committee to lift a condition with made dancers wear a “non-transparent G-string or similar piece of clothing” at all times.

Owners Bernice Howland and Reza Shahsava said the restriction is putting punters off as neighbouring councils do not put the condition on sexual entertainment venues.

Calderdale’s Licensing Panel rejected the bid by five votes to four.
