MEN in Calderdale work the least hours in Yorkshire, a new poll has revealed.
The average UK male puts in 40.6 hours per week. But full-time workers in Calderdale do only 38.4 hours.
In Kirklees the figure is 40.9 - just above the national average.
The survey by the GMB union reveals men in London work the least hours and those on the Orkney Islands work the longest.
Full-time workers in the Scottish isles work an average of 45.8 hours per week, more than eight hours longer than their London city counterparts.
Paul Kenny, acting general secretary of the union, warned of the potential risks of working long hours.
He said: "A long-hours culture can be detrimental to workers' long-term health and increase the risk of accidents.
"It can also take its toll on personal relationships and family life."
