Police have released an e-fit of a man they want to speak to over the abduction of a 17-year-old girl in Dewsbury.

The teenager was forced into a car in Huddersfield Road, Westtown, and driven to Bradford, Halifax and back.

When they returned to Dewsbury the man tried to sexually assault the teenager but she managed to escape.

The attack happened at 10.30pm on February 21 and detectives from Kirklees CID want to hear from anyone who recognises the man.

He was driving a three-door dark-coloured car.

The suspect is described as an Asian man in his 20s with dark curly hair, dark brown eyes and a beard.

Det Con Michael Smith, of Kirklees CID, said: “We are investigating this incident and would like to speak to anyone who recognises this man pictured in the e-fit.

“The victim was extremely distressed we are keen to locate this man. I would like to stress that this was an isolated incident and no other incidents have been reported.”
