Police need help piecing together the movements of a woman found slumped on a street in Huddersfield town centre early today.

The 21-year-old was found by officers at 5.15am on Church Street in the town centre.

She was unresponsive and the officers called for Yorkshire Ambulance Service paramedics, who were also unable to bring her round. The woman has been taken to hospital and police are hoping to speak to her later.

Det Insp Mark Truelove, of Kirklees CID, said: “At this moment we’re not sure what happened, we’re not suggesting she has been the victim of a crime such as robbery or assault, but we are concerned.

“She may have been seen in the Byram Street or Church Street area before 5am.”

Anyone with information can contact Kirklees CID on 101.
