MARIE Curie Cancer Care want volunteers for collections at Huddersfield supermarkets and on the street to help towards their Great Daffodil Appeal.

The money raised during the month-long campaign will help pay for nursing care for people with cancer throughout West Yorkshire, through the Marie Curie Nursing Service.

The volunteers will be asked to give away items with the Marie Curie emblem on, in return for a small donation to the charity.

Brian Curran, area manager of fundraising in West Yorkshire, said: "It's quite easy to raise enough money to pay for one night's nursing care in just two hours of collecting."

The Great Daffodil Appeal is aimed at providing care for terminally ill people.

Potential helpers should contact 0113 214 7905.
