IF YOU'VE never spent a night out under canvas, now's your chance.

It's fast coming up to National Camping and Caravanning Week (May 28 to June 3) and the Camping and Caravanning Club see it as a great opportunity for those who haven't tried the great outdoors up close, to give it a whirl.

Club chairman David Batty, says: "Camping and caravanning is generally inexpensive and fun and we are actively encouraging everyone to visit the countryside and enjoy the wonders of the great outdoors during the Week.

"All we ask is that you give it a try, and if you're anything like our 400,000 members, you'll love it and keep coming back for more"

The club challenges you to get out under canvas with your family and friends during their special week and make it the start of an exciting new footloose and fancy-free lifestyle of relaxation and exploration of the outdoors.

It will also be a perfect opportunity to meet other campers as the Camping and Caravnning Week falls at Spring Bank Holiday when avid campers, caravanners and motorhome owners will be packing their tents, hitching up their caravans or fuelling up their motorhomes for a long weekend wherever they decide to pitch, unhitch or park.

You don't have to be a member of The Camping and Caravanning Club to join in. Log onto www.nccw.co.uk for details of the event which some use as a springboard for fundraising, charity events and friends and family gatherings.
