FIRE crews were called to a car fire in Longwood last night.
A member of the public spotted the fire in a Nissan Micra at Edge Terrace and initially alerted police.
As firefighters tackled the blaze, the petrol tank ruptured and spilled fuel on the ground which caught fire.
Firefighters were there for nearly an hour.
The fire, shortly after 9pm, is thought to have been started deliberately. Police are investigating.
