At least six parked cars were badly damaged in a bizarre incident near Greenhead Park.
All were parked up in Gledholt Road and were hit by a car which apparently veered out of control.
One witness said: “It’s a hell of a mess”.
The incident happened shortly before noon and is now being investigated by police, who have attended the scene.
The incident is thought to involve a white BMW X5 which was being driven up the road from the junction with Heaton Road towards the Gledholt roundabout.
It is thought the driver may have lost control and ploughed into a number of cars parked on the opposite side of the road, outside Greenhead Park.
Several of the cars were left badly damaged.
Many are parked at the roadside by people who work in Huddersfield and walk from the park to work.
