A DRIVER was taken to hospital with head injuries after her car plummeted 20ft down an embankment.

The woman, in her 20s, hit her head on the windscreen of her Peugeot 106 after it came off Jagger Lane at its junction with Cold Royd Lane in Kirkheaton and hit a fence.

Firefighters were called to free the woman from the car at about 2.10pm on Saturday.

The woman, who was conscious but in shock, was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
