HALF the spaces in a Huddersfield town centre car park will be shut all next week for repairs.
The work at the Market Hall multi-storey car park is due to begin on Monday.
Council bosses today assured visitors there were plenty of other spots where they can leave their cars in the town centre.
The top three levels of the multi-storey car park are being shut in the first stage of a operation to waterproof all six decks.
A Kirklees Council spokeswoman said: "Shoppers and visitors are reminded that car parking spaces are available at the Kingsgate Centre and the bus station multi-storey car park."
The entire waterproofing project is expected to finish by November 14.
The spokeswoman said the closure of the upper three decks for the first week was unavoidable.
As much work as possible would be done on Sundays to minimise disruption, she said.
"The work is planned maintenance and is necessary to protect both the structure of the car park and its appearance," said the spokeswoman.
