CAR parking charges in Kirklees will go up, it has been confirmed.
Day-long parking will rise from £2.80 to £4 and there will be increased charges for shoppers' car parks.
Sunday charges will be brought in for the first time.
Tory council leaders put their proposals on hold last month for more talks.
But they gave the go-ahead when the Cabinet met yesterday.
Clr Martyn Bolt said there had been slight amendments to the new Sunday tariff after representations from Huddersfield Town Centre Partnership.
It will be the first increase since January in 2004.
Sunday shoppers will be charged 50p an hour and £1 for four hours from June.
