WOULD-BE thieves set fire to a car after failing to steal it early today.
The old Nissan Micra was outside its owner’s home on Bracken Way, Lower Edge, Rastrick.
Elland firefighters attended the blaze, which destroyed the vehicle.
It is believed that when thieves couldn’t start the car they set fire to it and rolled it downhill.
Witnesses reported screams and shouting from teenagers nearby.
