Car transporter on fire causes hold-ups on M62 near Brighouse

Four fire engines attend blaze on westbound carriageway

Firefighters tackled a blaze on a car transporter on the M62.

The blaze broke out in a vehicle on top of the transporter at around 6.40pm.

The lorry stopped on the westbound carriageway of the M62, next to junction 25 at Brighouse.

Four fire crews - one each from Cleckheaton, Odsal, Bradford and Rastrick - tackled the blaze.

Firefighters were called to the fire at around 6.45pm.

Smoke from the fire could be seen from Bradley Bar roundabout.

The fire caused tailbacks on the westbound M62 to junction 26, at Chain Bar.
