POLICE investigating the theft of alloy wheels worth £300,000 - including some from Huddersfield - have made six arrests.

The men and women were detained by officers from Kirklees, Wakefield and Leeds when they raided several homes yesterday.

Arrests were made in Batley, Lupset and Horbury near Wakefield, Wyke near Bradford and Royston near Barnsley.

The thefts are said to have happened in Huddersfield, Wakefield and Leeds over the last two years. A substantial amount of cash and alloy wheels were seized.
