THIS is the aftermath of a dramatic road crash in Huddersfield.

The black VW hatchback ended upside down in the crash on Lockwood Road at Folly Hall in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Debris was strewn across the road and the force of the impact had ripped the wheel off on the passenger’s side of the vehicle.

The road was closed while police attended the crash and accident investigation experts carried out a detailed examination of the scene in a bid to find out what happened.

The car came to rest by the Colin Appleyard car salesroom close to the junction with St Thomas’s Road.

It is unclear if anyone was badly hurt or any other vehicles were involved as police were unable to provide any more information last night. Anyone who saw what happened should ring West Yorkshire Police on 101.
