YOUNG staff from a Scammonden pub are giving up their tips for a week to help breast cancer charities.

Fourteen kitchen and waiting staff from the Jack O’Mitre pub, on New Hey Road, will be donating the tips they receive between October 27 and November 2.

The staff – most of whom are young students – will hand the money over to breast cancer charities in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which takes place during October.

Landlord Stuart Gledhill said he would be making a donation in support of his staff.

“We have a very young staff and you hear a lot of bad press about young people, but these are kids that care. They said they wanted to do something for a charity and with it being Breast Cancer Awareness Month they decided that would be a good cause.”
