CARNIVAL magic came to Huddersfield town centre this weekend.
King Street was transformed into a festival of fun when the Kingsgate Street Carnival came to town.
Throughout Saturday and yesterday, live music and entertainment filled the streets.
The acts included stilt dancers The Funkadettes, unicyclist and juggler Danny Collins, Jukalo the Juggler performing on a 12ft pole and Danny Zapparelli riding a 15ft unicycle, as well as performing magic and balloon modelling. There was also Professor Livingstone with Molly the Magic Bird, a unique 8ft Willow bird from the Amazon.
The event was the first in a series organised by Kingsgate shopping centre to raise the profile of King Street. Others will include continental stalls, and farmers' and craft markets.
Centre manager Jonathan Hardy said: "We wanted to show this street in its best light and all it has to offer."
