THE dull weather didn't dampen the spirits of carnival-goers in Flockton.

Despite the grey skies hundreds of people turned out to the event held just off Barnsley Road in the village.

The day, which kicked off at 12.30, featured a whole host of attractions and shows.

These included bungee jumping, a bird of prey show, majorette troupes, karate demonstrations and a tug-of war competition.

Pulse Radio also produced a live roadshow from the event.

All proceeds from the day will go to the community with Flockton First School, Flockton Playgroup and Flockton Rainbows all benefiting.

Jimmy Paxton, who helped organise the event, said: "It was a very successful day. Everyone had a great time and we managed to raise some money for very worthwhile causes."
