A MELTHAM company has raised thousands to help two children’s charities continue their work.

Disposables UK Group, based at Huddersfield Road, raised £3,500 for ChildLine and Mirfield-based charity The Hollybank Trust.

The cash was raised through a number of different events held last year, including a dog race night at Meltham Sports and Community Centre, a curry night at the Cinnamon Lodge in Meltham and raffles.

The company, which manufactures and distributes cleaning and hygiene brands in the UK, has raised over £20,000 for charities.

Each year the company looks to select a national and local children’s charity to support.

Mel Cooper, marketing assistant for the company, said: “ChildLine does amazing work dealing with thousands of phone calls from children, while Hollybank care for and develop children and young adults with both physical and severe learning disabilities.

“We believe that these are very worthwhile causes and truly deserve the money that we have raised over the year.”
