A SKIP owner has put up a £1,000 reward to catch thieves.
It follows the theft of two huge bright green skips from outside the same company at Leeds Road, Huddersfield.
Victim Gareth Lees, of Holme Valley Skip Hire Ltd, based at Queens Mill Road, Lockwood, believes the same thieves were responsible.
The first skip was stolen from outside Waterloo Windows, at Leeds Road, Huddersfield, two weeks ago.
A replacement went between 7pm on Wednesday and early yesterday morning from the same spot, near to the Hoyer UK bulk liquid transport company.
Mr Lees said: "We put another one there and spent £120 on a special lock for it.
"But that skip has now been stolen. They somehow prised the lock off, but it must have taken them ages to do and someone may well have seen them."
He said the skips were the first he had ever had stolen, but there was a problem with skips being stolen in Leeds and Bradford.
"They are very expensive to buy and can cost up to £3,000 each."
He revealed that both were full of waste - mainly old window frames.
He said: "It shows how badly the thieves wanted them by stealing them full of rubbish.
"People may well have seen the skip being taken on Wednesday night and not realised at the time it was being stolen.
"Did anyone notice anything about the vehicle that was taking it?"
The skips are called roll-on, roll-off skips and are dragged on to lorries using a large hook and chain.
