KIRKLEES Council is to get £411,000 from the Government as a reward for its performance in dealing with planning applications. A total of £6.4m is being shared between councils in Yorkshire. Housing and planning minister Yvette Cooper said: "There is still a challenge for authorities to deal with applications more efficiently while ensuring they make the right decision for their community."
