NEW cash means a careers service will be able to continue helping adults in Huddersfield.
Careers West Yorkshire has been given cash until 2006 by the Learning and Skills Council West Yorkshire, which pays for all after-16 education except universities.
Careers West Yorkshire operates the West Yorkshire Information, Advice and Guidance Partnership, which offers help with learning and careers for adults.
The partnership was set up in April, 2003, and was recently given a Matrix award, a quality mark for the careers guidance industry.
As well as general advice services, it also helps offenders in prison with literacy and numeracy.
It also helps with learning within families and, through trade unions, promotes education at work.
A spokeswoman said: "We are thrilled. We are working with people who deserve support to get them committed to education, training or work.
"We've already started some successful projects and this money means we can continue to expand our work."
