Caution warning to pupils as man seen acting suspiciously in Brighouse

PUPILS have been warned to be cautious after reports of a man acting suspiciously in Brighouse.

Police are investigating a report of a man acting suspiciously in a silver car at Bradford Road on Monday.

Insp Mohammed Nawaz of the Lower Valley police team, said: “We are making enquiries and officers have stepped up patrols in this area to reassure residents.

“We would always encourage any children who are approached by people they don’t know not to speak to them and to inform their parents who should contact the police.’’

Brighouse High School has issued a warning to its pupils, posting on the school’s website: “Pupils should ensure that they are vigilant and safe when making the journey to and from school. “Please ensure that you do not walk alone and that you follow a safe route. If you see anyone acting suspiciously around school or college please return to school and report this.”
