A Huddersfield barmaid is hoping this CCTV will help reunite her with her stolen mobile phone.

The theft happened on Wednesday afternoon when Linda Lockwood was working at The Plumbers Arms in Huddersfield.

The CCTV footage shows an elderly man leaving the premises after the phone is left unattended on the bar.

The iPhone 6s was particularly precious to Linda as it contained family photos of her 10 children and 32 grandchildren.

Linda, 56, said: “I just put it down for a second. I wasn’t usually in at that time. I was sorting out the ales. I know I shouldn’t have left it but we all do it.”

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Police were contacted at 4.07pm to the theft of a mobile phone from premises on Macaulay Street in Huddersfield.

“The crime is being dealt with by Huddersfield Neighbourhood Policing and enquiries are ongoing.”

The CCTV was captured by Holmfirth based company Northern Securities West who have now passed it to the police. They have also shared it on Facebook to help the appeal.
