Detectives investigating a serious attack in Berry Brow have released CCTV images of a man they wish to trace.

The unprovoked attack happened at the The Railway pub in School Lane when a 27-year-old man was assaulted whilst attending a 50th birthday celebration.

The victim suffered serious facial injuries and was treated in hospital following the attack on December 6 last year.

Det Con Ian Carruthers, of Huddersfield CID said: “This unprovoked assault took place on a busy Saturday evening in December when a lot of people were in the pub. The victim was at a 50th birthday with friends when he was attacked.

“We are appealing to anyone who can identify the male in the CCTV Images or who may have information that could assist with our enquiries to contact us.”

The man officers wish to speak to is described as white, well-built in his 40’s, between 5”10 and 5”11 tall, with a shaved head. He was wearing a pink polo shirt.

Anyone who can identify the man in the CCTV or who has information that may assist the police in their enquiries is asked to contact Det Con Ian Carruthers at Kirklees CID via 101. Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
