STAFF at Huddersfield University have been presented with an award recognising their welcome for staff and students with disabilities.

The university has had its Positive About Disability certificate renewed for the sixth year running.

It enables the university to use the two ticks logo to demonstrate a disabled-friendly attitude.

Staff from Huddersfield Jobcentre Plus, at Market Street, assess organisations to gauge whether they are eligible for the certificate.

Jobcentre staff also presented a copy of The Knowledge, an information pack for employers.

Julie McClellend, human resources director at Huddersfield University said: "As an organisation we are committed to making sure that all our employees and potential employees have the same opportunities to take up a job or gain promotion."
