A hustings event involving the Dewsbury parliamentary candidates is set to take place.

Kirkburton and Denby Dale residents will get the chance to grill parliamentary contenders for the Dewsbury constituency, which covers the area.

Kirkburton resident and former independent parish councillor, Malcolm MacDonald, will host a hustings and all of the candidates have been invited.

Malcolm said: “It’s really important that people have an opportunity to get to know and to question the people who might be their MP ahead of the election.

“The Dewsbury constituency will be key to the outcome of the election and so I invite the residents of Kirkburton and Denby Dale to take advantage of this opportunity to get the answers they need on the issues that concern them most.”

The event will take place at Shelley College at 7pm on Thursday April 30 and will give the residents the chance to question the would-be MPs on local and national issues of concern. Candidates will be able to introduce themselves and will take questions from the audience.
