ONE of Huddersfield's landmarks, Victoria Tower at Castle Hill, is opening its doors to visitors.

The tower will open for Easter, from 12.30pm to 4.30pm on April 15, 16 and 17.

It will then close until May Day weekend - opening on April 29, 30 and May 1.

The final opening days will be Spring Bank holiday - May 27, 28 and 29.

The tower was built in 1898 to commemorate Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee the year before.

By climbing to the top of the structure, visitors can gain spectacular views across the Huddersfield countryside.

Entry to the tower costs £1.20 for adults and 50p for children.

Family tickets, for two adults and four children, cost £2.50.

Entry for Kirklees Passport holders is free.
