A BICYCLE charity challenge will take place in Lindley on Sunday.

Four teams will be taking it in turns to see who can race a 23-seater bicycle from the Black Bull pub on West Street to the Bay Horse on Acre Street and back in the fastest time.

The four teams, each with 23 members, are made up of staff from the event's sponsors, the Royal National hotel in Chesterfield, Yates Bars, Mitchell and Butler pubs and Huddersfield's Heaven and Hell nightclub.

The event has been organised by the Laura Crane Trust, a Huddersfield-based charity which raises money for research and treatment of cancers affecting 13 to 25-year- olds.

The charity was set up in 1996 by the family of 17-year-old Huddersfield girl Laura, who died that year from a complex mix of cancers.

The bicycle fundraising event will start at the Black Bull from 11am.

There will also be a barbecue at the Black Bull, plus a raffle.

A raffle will be held at the Bay Horse.
