A MAN has been arrested in connection with a series of bogus charity collections.
The man, aged 35, was arrested in Brighouse and released on police bail after investigations into reports of a man posing as a charity collector.
Police said they had received 11 reports of thefts from elderly people in Brighouse and Wyke between January 8 and 26.
The conman claimed to be collecting money for Cancer Research in memory of his wife, who had died from the disease.
Police urge people to be vigilant when letting strangers into their homes and to report anyone acting suspiciously.
