A CANCER charity is appealing for volunteers to take part in a fund- raising cycle ride from London to Paris.

Places are open for anyone who can raise at least £1,000 sponsorship for the Huddersfield-based Laura Crane Trust.

A registration fee of £99 is payable.

The trust was set up in 1996 in memory of Huddersfield girl Laura Crane.

She died after a 14-month battle with cancer in 1996, just after her 17th birthday.

The trust, run by her mother, Jacqui Roeder, pays for research into cancers affecting 13 to 25- year-olds.

It also provides facilities to improve life for teenage cancer sufferers.

For more information about the cycle ride contact Helen Mervill at the trust on 01484 510013 or email her at helen@lauracranetrust.org
