OUTDOOR enthusiasts from Huddersfield are being invited to put on their walking boots in aid of Arthritis Research Campaign.

They are being urged to take part in this year's challenging Yorkshire Three Peaks Walk.

The event will take place on Saturday September 4.

It is a popular and demanding walk of 26 miles over the three peaks of the Yorkshire Dales - Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-Ghent.

Walkers have to complete the event in 12 hours, which will enable participants to become a member of the Three Peaks of Yorkshire Club.

Area appeals manager Kathryn Leverett said: "Walking is a wonderful way to raise money for Arthritis Research Campaign.

"The money raised will be put to good use in helping us to identify ways of curing and preventing arthritis."

Spaces are limited on the challenge.

Anyone interested in taking part should contact 01423 324158 or email k.leverett@arc. org.uk in order to secure a place.
