A CHARITY raising money to build a children's hospice in West Yorkshire needs people to help in forthcoming events.

The West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust's main fundraising event for the hospice in Kirklees or Calderdale is a major ball each year.

The next one will be on St Valentine's Day next year at the Hilton Hotel in Bradford.

A committee of six people is needed to help the charity's founder, Ainley Top mother Linda Senior, to organise it.

Companies and people are also urged to give prizes for the event.

The charity and Halifax's Piece Hall Business Association are holding a family fun day at the hall from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, September 21.

Volunteers are needed to run stalls. There will be donkey rides and a stage where bands, dancers and music groups can perform.

An MC is also needed.

There will also be a teddy bear stall, where people can give a teddy which will go into a tombola.

Anyone who buys a ticket will win a teddy bear to take home.

On Saturday, September 27, there will be a sponsored abseil at Calderdale College in Halifax.

A major sponsor is needed for this event.

The sponsor will be able to have its company logo printed on T-shirts worn by the abseilers.

Again, volunteers are needed to help on the day.

The trust will be running a raffle at Huddersfield Beer Festival at Greenhead Masonic Hall on Friday, October 24, and Saturday, October 25 from noon to 11pm.

Volunteers are needed to sell the tickets.

Anyone who can help should phone Ms Senior on 0788 7883554 or email her at linda@forgetmenottrust.co.uk
