THE Age Concern Kirklees charity has been presented with the Investors In People award.
The independent organisation, aimed at improving the life of older people, employs 140 paid workers and 300 volunteers.
The IIP recognises organisations' commitment to staff development.
Of 60,000 businesses in West Yorkshire, only 400 have the award.
Helen Atanacio, ACK's chief executive, said: "We merged three branches into one organisation in Dewsbury, Huddersfield and Cleckheaton.
"Working towards IIP helped us after the merger and helped us to work together as a team."
A celebration was held in the Dewsbury office in Foundry Street.
Among innovations provided by the charity as a result of the IIP are a solicitors' clinic for legal advice and a directory of recommended tradespeople.
