Children flock to see favourite authors at Huddersfield Literature festival

Annabel Pitcher among famous authors to read to youngsters

Young bookworms got to meet some of their favourite authors at the finale of a week long literature event.

Top authors, including Annabel Pitcher and Paul Dowsell, hosted workshops at the final day of the Pageturners Children’s Book Festival.

Families packed in to Huddersfield University to listen to readings by top children’s authors and take part in workshops and events, including storytelling, street theatre and craft sessions.

Authors and storytellers at the festival included Melvin Burgess, Kate Maryon, Jonny Duddle, Ben Lawrence, Susanne Meese and Tom Avery.
