SCHOOLCHILDREN across Huddersfield are record-breakers!

Hundreds of pupils from primary schools joined their peers nationwide to break the world record for the most people singing and signing simultaneously.

Before Wednesday, 13,418 people was the record, but at 2.45pm on that day 102,000 sang and signed the 1970s song “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing.”

Children from Grange Moor, Spring Grove, Christ Church Woodhouse, Paddock and Upper Denby Schools were among those taking part from Huddersfield.

More than 380 schools nationwide signed up to the event.

A message on the SignHealth website says: “Congratulations. You are all Record Breakers!
