FIREFIGHTERS tackled a chip pan blaze at a house in Flockton last night.
Crews from Skelmanthorpe and Ossett were called to the house in Hardcastle Lane at 9.30pm to find a blaze in the kitchen/dining room.
They quickly put out the fire and used a large fan to clear the house of thick smoke.
Crew Manager Nick Alderson, of Skelmanthorpe, said: "There were a couple in the house but they were outside when we got there.
"It should be a warning to everyone that people should never leave a chip pan unattended at any time".
