AN APPEAL to find people who were baptised at Moldgreen United Reformed Church has received a good response.
The minister, the Rev George Courtney, had asked anyone who had pictures, christening gowns or any other memories of a baptism to lend them to the church to celebrate 15 years in its new building.
All the items that have been collected will be on display at the Wakefield Road church on Sunday, when a special baptism and thanksgiving service will be held.
Church secretary Angela Lawson, of Lindley, said: "The church has been serving the communities of Moldgreen, Rawthorpe and Dalton for 139 years.
"This year it is 15 years since we moved, so we decided to mark the occasion by looking back at baptisms."
The service on Sunday starts at 10.45am. Anyone who was baptised at the church or the Congregational Church, as it was until 1972, is urged to join the celebration.
