HUDDERSFIELD Parish Church is set to spread holy light on the festive season.

The Byram Street church unveiled its indoor Christmas lights display on Saturday, when a Christmas fair was also held in the building.

Church stalls selling produce and Christmas crafts were joined by stalls for Oxfam, the RSPCA, the Laura Crane Trust and the Forget-Me-Not Trust.

The Forget-Me-Not Trust is the chosen charity of Kirklees Mayor Clr Barbara Allonby, who attended the event.

Huddersfield vicar, the Rev Catherine Ogle, said: "It's a great way for us to strengthen our links with different community groups and to encourage people to think about the joy and hope of Christmas."
