OFF-ROAD cops are targeting nuisance bikers in Kirklees.
Officers have been drafted in from across the county to help tackle the menace.
Over the summer operations will take place across West Yorkshire region, starting with Kirklees this weekend.
Officers will be in trouble- spots, ready to act against anyone using motorbikes or quad-bikes illegally. Police will also deal with thefts of such vehicles.
A police spokesman said: "We are keen to work with local communities to tackle the use of such vehicles in parks, school grounds, woodland and open public areas.
"When ridden irresponsibly the bikes can destroy beauty spots, cause thousands of pounds worth of damage and threaten wildlife.
"Residents suffer from
noise, pollution and general disruption."
