THE BASICS: We meet weekly for exercise classes and talks about health, well-being and diet.

Our members have an hour's chair exercise at the beginning of the session and we then talk about a variety of issues.

One member provides lunch each week and following lunch we visit sick and elderly members of our community.

WHAT ELSE DO WE NEED TO KNOW? The group also arranges day trips to Scarborough, Blackpool and other places of interest.

Younger women are also taught traditional sewing skills at sessions on a Monday from 5pm to 7.30pm and Wednesdays 5pm to 7pm at the centre.

Traditional Muslim festival celebrations are also held during the meetings.

CLUB PHILOSOPHY: To share health and social issues and prevent social isolation of elderly and sick members of the community through friendship and visits.

WHERE?: Clare Hill Muslim Community Centre, Clare Hill, Huddersfield.
