A man involved in a car smash has admitted drink-driving.

Mark Pearson, 36, pleaded guilty to the offence at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court in Huddersfield.

The offence happened on April 5 at Bradford Road in Cleckheaton.

Police were called after Pearson’s car collided with another vehicle.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and there a blood test revealed that he had 90 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

The legal limit is 80 milligrammes.

Due to a previous similar conviction, Pearson was banned from driving for three years.

Pearson, of Broomfield Terrace in Cleckheaton, was also fined £240 and ordered to pay £85 costs as well as £24 victim surcharge.
