THE gongs have been given out in Huddersfield's answer to the Oscars.

The event may not have the glitz and glamour of the Hollywood bash, but the Huddersfield Film and Cine Club Awards are also treasured.

The ceremony took place at Dalton Grange function centre on Bradley Mills Road.

Robert Lorrimer's Down the Tube was Film of the Year.

Barry Lockwood picked up four awards for four films.

The awards included Most Artistic Photography for And Then and Best Documentary for Shirley Ross.
