GREENHEAD College has again been praised for the careers education and advice provided for students.

It has retained the Calderdale and Kirklees Quality Standard in Careers Education and Guidance Award.

The Huddersfield college has held the award for the last three years. It then has to reapply to ensure it is providing a consistently high service.

Steve Collins, head of operations at Calderdale and Kirklees Careers, which runs the awards scheme, said the school showed excellence and commitment to careers education and guidance.

"It is testament to the hard work and dedication of staff that the standards have remained consistently high in the three years since first gaining the award."

The award means the college has demonstrated good practice in several subjects, including work with the community and business, involving parents and carers and providing information.

The college has also developed new facilities, including a careers library.
