MPs lost out to peers in the Houses of Parliament pancake race.

But the real winner of the race, started by Huddersfield news broadcaster Nina Hossain, was charity.

The annual race included Colne Valley MP Jason McCartney, who ran twice to complete the MPs’ team against the Lords.

But they were pipped to the post and lost after winning for the last two years.

Mr McCartney is in training for the London Marathon next month but blamed his performance on a hamstring strain.

The pancake race is held in aid of Rehab, a charity which supports the needs of people living with brain injury, mental health issues and a wide range of disabilities.
