Community groups join forces as home building plan threat looms

COMMUNITY groups have announced they have formed a coalition in a bid to fight together.

The new group dubbed KCAN (Kirklees Community Action Network) was launched by four members: Denby Parish Community Action Group (DPCAG), Lingards Community Association (LCA), Save our Scissett (SOS) and Skelmanthorpe Community Action Group (SCAG).

Members of the network plan to share resources to help their individual goals and fight plans with a concerted voice.

The group is currently focused on battling plans to build thousands of homes around the rural villages in the area.
